It’s all over the news today, Elizabeth Edwards’ breast cancer has taken a turn for the worse. It appears that she is stopping her treatment, as doctors are saying that there is no benefit from proceeding further with it.

I really feel for her. Elizabeth Edwards has been through so much. In spite of all the life challenges that came her way she has persevered.

The cancer she has fought for over six years is a struggle for life itself. All the many chemotherapies and radiation treatments couldn’t stop her. She was determined to live and do something for the world.

Through the fatal auto accident of her teenage son, she kept going and had two more children at age 49 and 50. That was resilience if I’ve ever seen it.

Then with all the demands of campaigning for her husband, John Edwards, running for vice president and then a presidential bid.

And then the ultimate betrayal, his infidelity and getting his mistress pregnant. All the lies and hurt associated with that mess.

She is an amazing woman with great determination and deduction to good. Her book, “Resilience,” is perfectly titled. She is the definition of resilient.

May God continue to bless her and save her, giving her that power, grace and salvation she has so thoroughly earned.

UPDATE: I’ve just heard that news that Elizabeth Edwards has fallen asleep in the Lord, as of Tuesday, Dec. 7. May God rest her soul.
