This moving video was created for a confirmation class, and comes to us from Frank Weathers, one of the contributors to the terrific blog “Why I Am Catholic.”

So: why am I Catholic?

Thanks Deacon Greg! Saved it to my youtube account and will hook up the HDMI to our huge monitor at Confirmation meeting next week. Perfect intro for first night.

It’s too bad this horrible, liberal, song which contributed to destroying the liturgy is the backdrop for a decent video.
Blech, overall. Not Catholic enough. Too Prot.

Really? It’s the first time I’ve heard it. I liked it. But then I have eclectic tastes. I like “Panis Angelicus” and also this little ditty. To each his own. :-)

Love it! I’m going to share this with our youth minister and hope that she will be able to show it to all of our high school youth.
God bless you and thanks to you and Frank for making this available!
(I liked the song too!)

This is going off to the religion teacher this morning. Our kids are being confirmed in the spring, and it’s really cool that the confirmation picture in the video is of our bishop!

This is a great little video–but it has been around a while and I didn’t think Frank Weathers had anything to do with it. It was created by a woman named Katarina who used to blog at Vox Nova.
p.s. too Protestant? are you kidding???

Big day in the Big Easy: 10 new deacons
Deacon Mike Talbot has the scoop: 10 men today were ordained as Permanent Deacons for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This group of men was formally selected on the day the evacuation of New Orleans began as Hurricane Katrina approached. The immediate aftermath of the storm for this class would be

"Gesu Bambino," anyone? This is one of my favorites, and nobody does it better than these gals: Kathleen Battle and Frederica von Staade. Enjoy.
