A friend at the parish passed along a flyer about a worthy project she’s involved with and asked if I would spread the word.

So here it is.

She’s helping to raise funds for the people in the village of Umuokazi, in Nigeria, where contaminated water has contributed to the deaths of scores of people, especially women and children. (One of the people who grew up in that village is Fr. Simon Nwachukwu, who served at our parish in Queens until last year. He’s now returned to Nigeria to continue his ministry there.)

The project is called Well of Hope, and you can find out more about this valuable ministry at the Well of Hope website (though the site, at last visit, was still under construction…)
