Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. [Jesus] said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?” (Mark 4:40).

After a display of Christ’s power–the stilling of a deathly storm — the disciples are not relieved and thankful so much as afraid. Why?

In some ways, we long for evidence of God’s power. And yet, if you’re like me, we’re afraid of that power. Why is that? What is holding you back from asking for God’s power in your life? Where is he calling you to have faith in this regard?
