What makes Christians different from everyone else is that God Himself lives within them by His Holy Spirit. When we come to Christ and give our lives to Him, God actually takes up residence within us. We may not always feel different or be aware of His presence, but Jesus’ promise to His disciples has already been fulfilled: “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth” (John 14:16-17).

In the next few entries, we’ll focus on how to rely on the Holy Spirit to transform our lives. For today, spend a few moments asking God to counsel you by His Spirit. You might list some specific ways you need counsel, or you might simply meditate on how it feels to communicate with the Spirit of God.
