Apologies to my readers for my mistake in my original post about Heath Ledger. I didn’t read the sources carefully enough–because I was rushing and I wanted to go to bed, which brings home the lesson that we should never rush and do things in a hurry–so I was wrong in saying it was suicide.
Now was that “the most irresponsible journalism” you’ve ever read? Perhaps. But there is a reason that I don’t write about politics or current events. I can never keep up with the story. There is always another report you have to read before writing your own version. I have a hard time getting everything straight.
And if the reader who blasted me for my mistake had as many voices hanging out in his head as I do in mine, he would fully understand why I make errors.
Mea culpa! (Is that the right term?)
