On February 2 at the Macarthur Center in Norfolk, I met the reigning Ms. Wheelchair Virginia, Buddy Hayes, at the Fashion Show and Tell. The fashion show was put on to share easy and stylish fashion tips for people with different body types including people with disabilities. Ms. Wheelchair Virginia was the special guest model for the evening and spoke to the crowd about the accomplishments of Virginians with disabilities.

Ms. Wheelchair Virginia is a nonprofit organization which educates the public and raises awareness of the abilities and needs of the disability community. Each year a new female is elected to reign as Ms. Wheelchair Virginia and carry out the organization’s mission as well as serve as a role model for others.
