Helen Nearing: Do the Best You Can in the Place You Are, and Be Kind

We can make a hell of life or we can make a heaven.
Helen Nearing and her husband and coauthor, Scott, made history with their experiments in self-sufficiency. Together they wrote the best-selling book “Living the Good Life” and other books. Among her other books are “Our Home Made of Stone" and "Simple Food for the Good Life." After Scott's death, Helen lived her last years in the stone house they built together on the coast of Maine. Their work continues today at The Good Life Center.
