Daily Inspiration: Hot Paws on Ice

Why don’t dog’s feet get cold? Our furry friends walk along icy pavement on the coldest days and don’t suffer any discomfort in their four paws.  Yet, you can wear three layers of socks and a pair of Uggs, and within minutes your tootsies are begging for relief.

Experts have found that dogs have an internal heating system that prevents cold surfaces from chilling the rest of their bodies. Humans have an internal heating system too, but it’s wired differently. God, in his marvelous wisdom, knows the human soul needs protection from outside elements. He planted a spark of holiness in His children, and the spiritual furnace is always glowing.

Every day you meet challenges that threaten to expose you to the coldhearted ways of the world. But because God is your dedicated HVAC technician, you can always adjust your personal thermostat to a comfortable 72 degrees.

How to Keep Your Soul from Growing Cold

1.    Pray for understanding of the full truth behind difficult situations.
2.    Accept the facts and decide on an action plan that confronts the problem.
3.    Make your solution work.

Give God the gratitude that is due before, during, and after a “stormy” session with adversity.  Embrace the warmth in your soul on the coldest days and when the heat is on.
