I feel my anger overpowering me.
I have lost my sense of balance
my sense of control
my sense of security.
Now I stumble my way to You and ask You,
lay a calming hand over my raging heart.

Give me the wisdom to see my righteous anger
as an alert to danger,
so that I can respond by caring for myself.

Help me resist the desire to treat my anger as a weapon,
so that I will not perpetuate hurt
by responding with aggression.

And please teach me grace,
so that I may know peace by learning to forgive.

There are two kinds of people; those who own up and those who don't. Post-election remarks separate the real winners and losers. Alexi Giannoulias was the young democratic candidate running for Illinois Senate. He's pretty much the product of Chicago-style political "king-making."

He lost his carefully orchestrated and excessively financed campaign to a well-respected veteran congressman. Despite his prepared gracious concession speech, he was caught on camera making a snarky remark to a reporter; "[I lost because] not enough people voted for me."

Oh I see! It's the voter's fault that Alexi didn't get what he wanted. Wah, wah, wah.

The daughter of a family friend has never held a real post-college job. She's worked for a friend of a friend, she started a business that didn't make it, and now she's a "consultant."...

What a wonderful forever ...
