Why a Man Covers His Head
Then He said, “Do not come any closer. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”
An obvious outward sign of one who lives biblically is a head covering. Where did this practice come from?
One of the bible verses cited is when the Lord commanded Moses to remove his shoes as he was on holy ground. Because Moses was a shepherd, it is deduced that he would have been wearing a hat to protect his head from the hot sun. Yet the Lord did not ask him to take off his hat. This line of scripture is the basis for the custom of religious men who keep their heads covered.
