Worship is a way to give thanks to the Lord for His mercy, and for rescuing you from your darkest moments.  

There's an  awesome song by the Christian group Sonicflood, “Here I am To Worship.”  It is a lyrical anthem that encourages you to take pleasure in the awesomeness of God.  It expresses the story of Christ from heaven, to earth, and then to the cross.
