Monroe is also reported to be a descendent of Puritan leader Anne Marbury-Hutchinson, who stood for religious freedom. Her linage is reportedly linked to the wife of President Garfield. No surprise, Monroe was also known to tote around the biography of Abraham Lincoln. Monroe was quite the opposite of her conservative lineage, however. She appeared on the first cover of Playboy in 1953.
