By Corine Gatti
If Marilyn Monroe took Beliefnet’s Politic-O-Matic today, you might be surprised where she stands. We know her as a sex symbol with a carefree disposition on screen, but this starlet loved politics, books and American history. Did you know that in her autobiography Monroe said that her guardian angel told her that she was a descendent of President James Monroe? James Monroe was part of the second American political party, the Democratic-Republican Party, which objected to a central government. It gets better. Monroe is also reported to be a descendent of Puritan leader Anne Marbury-Hutchinson, who stood for religious freedom. Her linage is reportedly linked to the wife of President Garfield. She appeared on the first cover of Playboy in 1953.
Let’s explore the bombshell’s insightful quotes and see what political party she lean towards.
