It’s vital for parents to talk to their kids! Forget lecturing. The parent’s job is to listen and ask questions. Effective parents talk about their faith—its ups and downs—and encourage their kids to talk about theirs, including their doubts (less than half of the kids studied don’t share their spiritual struggles with adults). Giving permission for independent thought leads to stickier faith.
