“Many children available for adoption, in small group or orphanage systems,” writes de Blecourt. “feel like they are home. Our son had only been beyond the orphanage walls two times in his short lifetime and then, it was in a large bus. When we left the orphanage for the last time in a small taxi, he actually moaned, reaching back for the orphanage. It was all he knew. He couldn’t comprehend what may be in store for him, a nice home with a loving family. He could only mourn the loss of his present and only home he had ever known.”
