When Your Life Is On Fire
page Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson once said in effect that in boxing you make your plans and then go about executing them to perfection, until someone punches you in the nose. Sage observation for all of us. The punch in the nose might come in the form of a shadow on an X-ray, a pink slip in our pay envelope, a violent storm that sweeps away our home and, with it, our dreams. We can never be certain when the punch will come or from whom but we can be certain that none of us will go through life unscathed. We needn’t be frightened, but we are wise to be alert. We needn’t be rigid, but we are wise to know ahead of time what our priorities are.
