When Your Life Is On Fire
When newscaster Jane Pauley learned she suffered from bipolar disorder her world was turned inside out, but over the years she has learned to cope and to manage her condition. She does this largely by finding ways to let enough activity into her life to keep her from going into depression but not so much that it overwhelms her. As she put it, “I love the light but not the glare.” For Jane, as for all of us, life is about proportion. Too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing. Too little is self-imposed deprivation. Proportion, however, is life in balance.
