Hospitals are breeding grounds for the “superbugs,” virulent and potentially life-threatening bacteria that resist drugs. While a person can technically get a superbug infection anywhere, they are most common in hospitals and long-term care facilities. These “bugs” defy conventional treatment and have very high death rates. Not only that, but many hospitals and nearly all nursing homes have trouble identifying these types of infections until they have had lots of time to spread.
