The Lord knoweth the days of the upright….and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.   Psalm 37: 18a and 19b

Having a tough day?  The Lord knows all about it and gives a special promise. He will satisfy in times of famine.

Famine is a time when there is not enough food to go around. People are hungry.  Does that sound like your day on a diet?  When you start cutting back on the calories and saying “no” to high carb, high sugar foods, your body thinks a famine has hit.  To make matters worse, you probably have been used to dealing with tough times by feeding your stomach to console yourself. Now you really feel sorry for yourself, empty, and grouchy!

The good news?  God truly satisfies.  When you are feeling grumpy and hungry, get yourself a low glycemic snack  that will keep your blood sugar steady, like a piece of fruit, a cheese stick, or some celery sticks with peanut butter. And take some time with the Lord, who knows your needs and who will give you help that truly satisfies.
