One of the best ways to become more present is to use all your senses to experience your world, both the obviously extraordinary moments and the seemingly ordinary ones. Take eating as an example. The next time you sit down for a meal, turn off the TV, and focus on your food. What does it smell like? Breathe in the aromas. What does it look like? Do you see a rainbow of colors or just a few hues? What does each bite taste like? What does the texture of the food feel like? What noises do you hear as you’re biting and chewing? What noises does your fork make as it travels from your plate and into your mouth?
