Is Your Memory Slipping?

Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose.
-Kevin Arnold

From Beliefnet columnist Bill Webber:

There is good news for those a long way from Alzheimer’s but who feel their memory is slipping. Gary Small, M.D. in a study at UCLA found that four simple lifestyle changes can improve one’s memory. And the best news he discovered was that it’s never too late to get the benefits.

Here are the activities that lead to marked metabolic changes:

1. Doing crossword puzzles and brain teasers.
2. Taking brisk walks
3. Reducing stress by stretching and other relaxation exercises
4. Eating five small meals rich in whole grains, antioxidants and fatty acids.
