Herod's Tomb Discovered

The Tomb of King Herod

The long search for Herod the Great's tomb has ended with the exposure of the remains of his grave, sarcophagus, and mausoleum on the northeastern slope of his mountaintop fortress, the Herodion. Archeologist Ehud Netzer of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem announced the find at a press conference in early May 2007.
