A long word, which is actually three: Sat, meaning Truth; Chit, meaning Consciousness, or Mind; and Ananda, meaning Bliss. This is the nature of Brahman as experienced through meditation, when Atman is revealed as identical with Brahman. It is an experience of supreme unification: the individual merges with the universal and knows the truth of itself as pure consciousness and pure bliss. Here there is no individual “I”, no thought, no mental activity whatsoever, for the mind has become absorbed in the three-in-one of Truth-Conscisousness-Bliss.
