What Really Happened on the First Palm Sunday
A two-mile journey
As our Lord began his two-mile journey from Bethany toward Jerusalem, the crowds began to grow. The whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully, singing a Passover song. Luke the physician describes how some of the high officials were irked. Luke 19:39-40: And some of the Pharisees in the multitude said to Him, "Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.” And He answered and said, "I tell you, if these become silent, the stones themselves will cry out!” He was saying, "Don't you understand? This is the moment that God my Father has been preparing since the foundation of the world for you to have your Messiah. I am officially here.”
