Keep your eyes on Him

Throughout the centuries, great thinkers have sought different ways to focus on Jesus. St. Antony of the Desert spent years in solitude meditating on Jesus -- and is often called the “grandfather” of Christian monks, according to the Trappists website. Born in 251, when he was about 20 years old, his parents died and left him all their wealth. One Sunday, when Antony was worshipping, he was inspired by Jesus’ words in the Gospel of Matthew: “If you would be perfect, give away all that you own to those who are poor and then come and follow me!”
