To truly love someone means to overlook their flaws and mistakes. With all of our mistakes God still loves you unconditionally. Even if you mess up. “We now have this light shining in our hearts,” promises 2 Corinthians 4:7 – a verse from the Apostle Paul’s second letter to God’s people in Corinth, Greece – who were a mess. They actually got drunk at church! “But we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure,” Paul wrote to them. Wow! Our human bodies contain something valuable – us, our eternal spirit! This verse also makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. As in any relationship, if we are to feel loved, we must love back. Make God your treasure and your first love. You will begin to understand that He loves you just the way you are.
