Danny Gokey: Inspired by Faith

Danny Gokey captured the hearts of American Idol viewers early in Season 8 when he shared that his wife Sophia had died just four months before his audition. Despite his grief Gokey auditioned, knowing that’s what his wife would have wanted. Wearing his heart on his sleeve and a constant smile on his face for the entire competition, he offered perhaps his most personal and intimate moment with his rendition of "Endless Love."

The worship leader from Milwaukee went on to finish in the Top 3, gaining fans while sharing his story of faith during tragedy.
