I believe everyone is looking for that one person in life who will never leave your side and stick even closer when things get tough. The 1961 hit by Ben E. King put that feeling into music with “Stand By Me”. In the second verse, he sings, “If the sky that we look upon should tumble and fall / Or the mountain should crumble to the sea / I won't cry, I won't cry, no, I won't shed a tear / Just as long as you stand, stand by me.” The comfort of a forever friend inspires us to seek those relationships that can weather any storm and endure the impossible with grace and love.
