Do you believe that when you wish upon a star that your dreams come true? Then maybe you need to take another look at the 1940 Disney classic Pinocchio. An elderly carpenter makes a wooden puppet that he wishes were a child. A fairy comes in the night and grants his wish with one condition -- Pinocchio is alive as a puppet and can only become human if he can demonstrate that he is brave, truthful and unselfish. Jiminy Cricket is his traveling conscience as he weathers great adventures and becomes a real, live boy. Even to this day as an adult, I draw inspiration from hearing "When You Wish Upon a Star". I watch Pinocchio and know that if I have faith and am brave, any dream can come to life.
