As a child, I watched The Ten Commandments every time it came on television. The epic 1956 film retells the biblical story of Moses and the Hebrews' exodus from Egypt. I was in awe of the strong performances by Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner and Anne Baxton. They made the Bible come to life to me. What is most inspiring about the Oscar-nominated movie is that it brilliantly portrays the divine journey of a Hebrew slave, rescued from certain death as an infant, raised as a Prince, then banished once his true identity was revealed. He fought for his people's freedom and inspired a nation to believe in an unseen God.
