Will Hunting is a genius with a lot of problems, Sean Maguire is a therapist who cares more for others than his own career, and they are brought together by the self-serving goals of Gerald Lambeau.  The lives of the three men are not all that inspiring, in some ways they are too real to be inspiring, but what brings the film together is the relationship between Will and Sean.  The two characters have little in common, but are united by their humanity in many powerful moments.  That bond comes together behind one simple strength – Sean looks at Will as more than what he can do – he looks at him as a person.
