Set in post World War II Italy (although mostly told through flashbacks), this is a coming of age film about a young boy and Alfredo, the blind film projectionist who befriends him. As the boy grows up, he often goes to Alfredo for advice, who delivers his wisdom in the form of quotes from classic films. This is a story about love, a story about friendship, and a story about the power that film can have in our lives.
