I never considered myself a big crier at movies, but I remember the first time I saw Beaches and completely balled! I wasn't the only one. The 1988 film starring Bette Midler and Barbara Hersey made many viewers reach for their tissues. It portrayed the lives to best friends CC and Hillary and showed how friendship can survive growing up, different locations, bad apartments, bad break-ups, and even illness. If that's not inspiring enough, it features the iconic ode to silent heroes and Midler’s biggest song to date, "Wind Beneath My Wings".
