Don't be afriad to start over

The character of James Bond has been played by no less than six actors. While they haven’t all worked out (Sorry Roger Moore!), the franchise has never been afraid to drop in a new face and head off in a different direction. It’s a big part of what makes the character of Bond so endearing. So, don’t be afraid to start over from the beginning, major life changes can be a huge breath of fresh air.

Learn about other cultures

James Bond has traveled to Russia, India, Thailand, and more, making friends (and sometimes enemies) along the way. He is always able to assimilate to the culture, and it goes a long way to making him the well-rounded spy he is. You should do the same! There’s so much to learn from other cultures that you can use in life, and besides, it’s always fun to travel!

Be creative

007 has never been above using a pen as a gun, driving a car with cell phone, or using dental floss as a trip wire. His willingness to be creative has saved his life and the lives of many women over the years. Why not give it a shot yourself? Getting creative by writing, drawing, building, or however you do it best can clear your mind by giving you a break from your every day life. Who knows, you could come up with something that even Bond could use!

Dress for success

007’s signature tuxedo is a big part of his dazzling success as a special agent. While one may wonder just how practical it is to fight terrorists in a stylish coat, there is certainly something to dressing in a way that makes you look and feel good. The way you dress can affect your confidence and it certainly changes the way people look at you. It’s nice to feel good, and you don’t have to be a special agent to do it!

Exercise regularly

There’s no way James Bond could take down all the criminals he does if he didn’t stay in shape. Fortunately for the world, even older depictions like the recent Daniel Craig one are always ready to kick butt. Exercising regularly can have you fit just like James, and you’ll feel better and live longer because of it! What’s not to love?

Know what you like

While it’s important to be creative and to try something new, there’s nothing wrong with knowing who you are and having things that are always there for you. The Bond “shaken, not stirred” martini is a staple throughout all Bond films, and it is a part of what keeps the character grounded. Having something you can always enjoy is essential to a fulfilling life, and it doesn’t just have to be a martini!

Be a strong woman

Bond films are full of women who don’t do much to represent the female gender positively, but there are many who are as strong as they are sultry. Halle Berry’s Jinx, Eva Green’s Vesper Lynd, and Anya Amasova of The Spy Who Loved Me all turned heads with their strong female personas, fighting skill, and even the ability to resist the charms of Bond himself. These women show that it isn’t just a man’s world any more, and in the context of a Bond film that is tough to do.

Pick a good theme song

Adele’s take on the Bond theme has received almost as much hype as the new movie, and with good reason. Bond themes set the tone for the movie and compliment the Bond standard that we are all familiar with. Just like Bond, music is important for our lives. The music you listen to says a lot about you, and it can also be used to pick you up when you’re feeling down. So pick a theme song or two, and use them to get out over your blues!

Respect your elders

The secret service ranks of Q and M are reserved for those who have seen it all, and they are some of the lucky few who can tell James Bond what to do. While he may make them crazy at times he ultimately comes around and respects their wishes, especially those of Q since he has all of the great gadgets. It’s important to respect our elders, because they’ve seen more than we have, even if you are James Bond!

Just relax!

Saving the world is a tough business, but James always takes time for leisure. Whether it’s a nice boat ride, or a destructive double decker bus tour downtown, 007 knows that it’s important to just kick back and enjoy life, no matter how things may be going! So take a lesson from Bond, James Bond, and enjoy yourself!
