Tom Hanks' led off the show with an overlong "tribute" to a seat-filler (a person hired to fill in while the stars are on stage so the auditorium always looks fully occupied), then seemed to say it was a joke.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey, Jr. (Iron Man co-stars), fumbled un-funny meta-banter about filming a documentary about being presenters.

It was wonderful to see the cast of Bridesmaids together on stage but their crude jokes were not appropriate or funny.
