All sorts of hopefuls. To start things off, they were given applications, which included waivers of privacy. Contestants had to give their permission for their likeness to be shown on TV – including looking bad, glad, happy or sad. The waiver means that if you make a fool of yourself in front of the camera, the network gets to use the video – even if you look ridiculous. Or silly.
