James Levoy Sorenson
James Levoy Sorenson compiled 40 medical patents in addition to being a hymnist. He was determined to improve medical aids after witnessing the death of a child in 1965. Sorenson patented the first computer-based heart monitor in the 1970s. He invented the disposable paper surgical mask, disposable venous catheters, and blood recycling systems.
