Nicaea is slated to be filmed at Rome’s Cinecittà Studios, the largest film-making facility in Europe, spreading over an area of 98 acres with 22 stages, 300 dressing rooms and offices, 21 makeup areas and a 75,000-square-foot outdoor tank for naval scenes. Cinecittà has seen the production of many classic films such as La Dolce Vita, Ben-Hur, Cleopatra, The Agony and the Ecstasy, Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet and Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, according to Christian News Service.
