The music born and reimagined from the collective group of men, women and youth fighting for the right to vote in the year 1965, in Selma, Alabama, breathed a mixture of hope and pain. Standing in solidarity against fear, oppression, and the barbarity of an unjust system, these songs lifted up the lives and spirits of many that led the historic march to Montgomery, pushing them forward.
