Instead of paying so much attention to your mouth and what you put into it...try giving your hearing some notice! Listen carefully to the sounds around you. Is it traffic? Tires, engines, horns, brakes? Is there a parking lot near you, with sounds of the gate going up and down, or cars turning on ramps--entering and exiting? Is there a buzzer to warn pedestrians of exiting autos? Is there a children's playground nearby? Do you hear the unfettered, sweet sounds of vigorous youth at play? Screams of delight on swings way high in the sky? Laughter at being chased? Little feet running? Can you hear pedestrians on the sidewalk outside your window? People in conversation? Beeps from cellphones? Footsteps on concrete or pavement? Swooshing air? Laughter? Fighting? Are people walking slowly or running? What sounds do they make to express their lives? Maybe you're near trees and hear sounds of leaves rustling in the wind. Or birds chirping from their homes in nests on the branches. Is it daytime sounds or nighttime silence you like best? Our Creator has provided us with a rich world of sound, but most of the time our ears aren't open enough to hear God's natural orchestra. Put your hunger aside and keep your eating habits at bay. Treat another God-given sense of hearing to a banquet.
