people girl sad thinkingHello Friend,

Are you feeling stuck or unchanged? Does everything and everyone else seem to be progressing without you? Fear not friend – feeling like you’ve fallen behind is completely normal. In fact, those people you’re watching move forward have also been left behind at one point or another. Despite your dark period,

Life happens – the good, the bad and the ugly. No one can control what happens and despite what may seem like a raw deal, the toughest obstacles create the biggest lessons. Uncertainty and unpredictability are elements of life for everyone. There must be a point in life when you accept the good with the bad. Timing is everything. Everything feels stagnant because if you’re giving your all and it still hasn’t happened – well friend, the timing isn’t right yet. In reality, things suck until they don’t anymore. And there’s no self-pity cloud to loathe in long enough that will change your circumstances.

We’re all human beings and have a responsibility to ourselves to create opportunities. Stop listening to the people who are in a different place in their life – you know exactly what I’m referring to, don’t you? Accept that every person is dealt a different deck of cards and it’s up to that individual to make that deck work. Use your negativity as motivation and learn how to become what you truly want to be versus a version you’re settling on. You’re not a genie. You can’t snap your fingers and make things work out. Instead, you must have patience and allow yourself the necessary time for things to work out. It’s important to remember that the journey to your dreams is what cultivates you into the person you’re meant to be.

If you don’t make your path, you won’t discover the answer you need to overcome the adversities and yell from the mountain tops. It’s easy to forfeit the battle and wave your white flag in defeat. However, it’s not a simple action to keep on keeping on when you’ve been shot down. In the end, you’ll find out that your relentless attitude will help you become the vision you’ve painted for yourself.

So if you feel like you’re falling behind, don’t sit back and wait to be pulled back up. Instead assess your life and figure out what’s going wrong. Then devise a plan and take action. Be prepared for more setbacks. Be your own cheerleader and allow the journey to fuel your road to victory. And along the way you’ll meet a friend or two that will need you. Help them. Share the same words, I’m sharing with you today, and let them know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. People find comfort in knowing that they aren’t alone and use that to measure their normalcy.

Truth is there’s no real normal. Everyone is on a journey that is dictated by their individualized hopes, dreams and aspirations. So friend, stand up, brush off and try again. Allow your low times to serve as motivation. And most of all remember you are the only one that can truly help you.

Warmly,

A Friend
