Qur'an, Al-Jumu'ah, Surah 62:2,4

It is God who raised an apostle from the inhabitants of Mecca, to recite to them his revelations, to purify them, to make them wise, and to explain the Scriptures to them—and thereby save them from the gross errors into which they have fallen. Such is the grace of God; he bestows his grace on whom he leases, and his grace is infinite.
