Qur'an, Al-Fath, Surah 48:8-10

We sent you [Muhammad] as a witness and a herald of glad tidings and to admonish, so that humankind may believe in Allah and his messenger and honor Him and glorify Him morning and evening. Those who pledge allegiance to you are really pledging their allegiance to Allah, for the hand of Allah is above their hands. Those in breach of their oaths break them to their own disadvantage, and those who keep their covenant with Allah shall be blessed with an immense reward.
