Qur'an, Al-A'raf, Surah 7:189-90

It was God who created you from a single being. From that being God created a mate, so that each might find comfort in the other. And when they had lain together, she conceived. At first the burden was light, and she carried the child easily. When the burden grew heavy, they cried out to God, their Lord, "Grant us a fine child, and we shall be truly grateful!" Yet when God granted them a fine child, they set up other gods besides God, giving thanks to them for what God had done. May God be exalted above all gods.
