Pastor Jimmy Evans claimed during a sermon that Jesus felt more fear than any human has ever felt. Evans was giving a guest sermon and was preaching about how Christians could deal with their fears and anxiety. As many obstacles life throws our way, it can be pretty common to experience moments of fear and anxiety.

"Jesus had more fear on his way to the cross than any human being has ever experienced... Suppose you've ever been fearful of anything. In that case, Jesus understands it, and He was more fearful than any person has ever been fearful," Pastor Jimmy Evans said during his guest sermon at the Fellowship Church in Texas.

Evans suggested that before Jesus was arrested, He felt endless amounts of fear that made Him sweat blood. The pastor declared the reason for Jesus never speaking of experiencing fear other than this experience was simple, He identified as a fellow human. When you go to Jesus and discuss your feelings, He will tell you He understands because He became a man during his in the world. Jesus experienced fear in order to redeem us from our fear. He also experienced every form of temptation that the ordinary person is tempted with. He held onto His will and did not sin.

Evans reminded congregants that have sinned that they have a "good God" who loves them unconditionally despite any flaws they may have.

"So if you're ever fearful, know that Jesus not only understands it, but He's been there and done that and can help you get through it," Evans said. Evans encouraged congregants to visit their "throne of grace" every time they needed God's help.

He loves us so much that he sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins, which means that God understands what we're going through, and he's there for us. When you're feeling down, don't forget that God is with you. Evans reminded congregants that Jesus encourages them to come to His throne when they are experiencing "something," as Hebrews 4:16 says.

Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

God was so fearful in his experience because He had "the full knowledge of every single detail of everything He was about to endure. No one has ever been tortured, and no one has ever died the death that Jesus was about to die, and He knew exactly every blow he was gonna receive." Evans said. Christians don't get complete knowledge when it comes to a situation. The fear and anxiety you experience are the Devil's way of stopping you from doing something great.

Even though Christ begged his father not to let him go through it, God refused his request. Jesus ultimately chose to surrender to God's will because it was the only way for man to be saved. John 14:6 says, "If there was any way to heaven, God the Father would not have sent Jesus down the cross." Evans preached that only through Christ is going to heaven possible and that Christians never truly die.

"When you take your last breath here, you take your first breath in heaven immediately after that," Evans said when explaining the beauty of resurrection that Jesus Christ gives to the world.

In the Bible, God tells us not to be afraid. (Luke 12:32, Philippians 4:6-7) We often make decisions out of fear instead of out of faith when we are afraid. We may also miss out on opportunities because we're too afraid to take risks. The Devil uses fear to try to control us and keep us from doing what God wants us to do. However, when we trust God, we can overcome our fears and accomplish great things.

In the end, Pastor Evans encourages people to put their full faith in God, allowing them never to regret a faith-based decision. God always honors faith, but he does not honor fear. Start every day with faith over fear, and you will be in good stead.
