Even when we least feel like it, saying a prayer and building up the inner man can help and inspire you before heading into work. Prayer doesn’t need to be guided by rules or self-regulated.

Asking for God’s presence and guidance into your day can be the simplest communication that can be ongoing. How do you start?

It can be as simple are getting 10 minutes of quiet time before leaving for work or, while driving. You can pray for the company, the health and protection over co-workers, those you like and don’t like!

First be honest. If you are struggling with burnout or just feel like giving up, talk it through with someone. Ask them to prayer with you. This will help build you up, and have confidence to face the day or situations. Prayer been linked to having a better mood and has showed to improve health.

The Indian Journal of Psychiatry found that "Different types of meditation have been shown to result in psychological and biological changes that are actually or potentially associated with improved health. Meditation has been found to produce a clinically significant reduction in resting as well as ambulatory blood pressure.”

The study is not conclusive, but in a practical sense we all feel more peaceful when we pray ourselves and with others. Try simple ways to introduce prayer today.

Pray over the schedule and meetings. Praying for creativity, insights, and favor energizes you and helps build faith. Find a scripture that speaks to you and apply it with a prayer. Psalm 29:11 reads that “The Lord gives strength to his people, and the Lord blesses his people with peace.”

You can try something like personalizing the scripture: “God you said that you will give your people strength and peace. Give me wisdom and peace as a guide today.”

Remind yourself of what God has done for you in the past. He won’t let you down, lean on him before work and during for inspiration.
