Goliath, USA

With a recent opening at Six Flags Great America in June 2014, Goliath is a menacing as it sounds. It’s a wooden rollercoaster that has already broken three world records.

Goliath provides the tallest drop at 180 feet, moving at the fastest speed of 72 mph, and dropping at 85 degrees. Whew!

Try to keep your lunch down and pray that the rickety Goliath can withstand the screams.

Formula Rossa, Abu Dhabi

Rename this rollercoaster the “King of Speed.” Formula Rossa is the fastest, FASTEST roller coaster in the world, and will leave your heart in your chair (still beating rapidly), after stepping off.

Clocking 150mph in under 5 seconds, it’s required to wear protective goggles.

Buzzfeed named it as one of the amusement rides you must go on before you die, so add it to your bucket list.

Kingda Ka, USA

The name alone sounds majestic and terrorizing at the same time. In 2009, it was struck by lightning and survived after extensive damage, so it definitely has presence.

Influenced by the Bengal tiger, the rollercoaster takes on a safari/jungle motif and is sometimes labeled the “ Green Giant.”

When it’s ready to launch, Kingda Ka zooms from 0 to 128 mph in 3.5 seconds, making it the fastest rollercoaster in the United States. Since 2005, it has been named the world’s fastest and tallest world coaster drop.
