Jeff Bridges

Jeff Bridges and his wife Susan Geston were married just five days after he proposed. Could one ask for more romance? Well, yes actually. Susan had two black eyes and a broken nose from a car accident when Bridges first spotted her on the set of his movie, “Rancho Deluxe.” Bridges proudly boasts that he had never seen such a beautiful woman and that it was love at first sight. Geston initially turned down Bridges first offer for a date in 1974. She ultimately fell for him. They were married in 1977. Bridges has said that he knew immediately upon returning to Los Angeles that he had fallen in love with Geston. They have three daughters.

Ronald Reagan

In a bit of foreshadowing history, Nancy Davis met Ronald Reagan in 1949 while he was serving as President of the Screen Actors Guild. Davis was attempting to remove her name from the McCarthy Hollywood blacklist. It seems she had been confused with another actress of the same name. They married in 1952 and their love was unmistakable for all who witnessed it before, during and after Reagan’s Presidency. Nancy once said, “Our relationship is very special. We were very much in love and still are. When I say my life began with Ronnie, well, it’s true. It did. I can’t imagine life without him.”

Not long after, in 1957, they were cast in the same move, “The Long, Hot Summer.” Newman divorced his first wife in 1957 and in early 1958 he married Woodward. Together they had three daughters. Newman also had a son and two daughters from his first marriage. In the 1960’s they moved to a farmhouse in Westport, Connecticut far away from Hollywood. Newman once said, “People stay married because they want to, not because the doors are locked.”

Kevin Bacon

Absolutely zero chemistry has evaporated in the marriage of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. They still possess the obvious electricity of two teenagers in love. It’s hard to imagine that they have been married for twenty-eight years. They were married in 1988 after meeting on the PBS play Lemon Sky. Sedgwick initially thought Bacon was arrogant. It wasn’t long before a love that any individual would envy developed. Sedgwick was just twenty-two when they married proving that when you have met the real love of your life, it can stand the test of age and timing. They have two children.

On their 24th wedding anniversary, Wilson tweeted, “Happy 24th Anniversary to the love of my life Tom Hanks. It feels like 24 hours. Did we just get married?” Awe! Their legendary love affair started long before they married, but they did enjoy thirty-five devoted years with one another until June’s death in 2003. Johnny died just four months after his beloved June. Their famous duet of the song “Jackson” reached No. 2 on U.S. Country charts in 1967. When Cash was asked his definition of paradise…”This morning, with her, having coffee.”

Tim McGraw

Tim McGraw recently and lovingly, recounted dropping to one knee and proposing to Hill while on tour. Hill laughed and asked if he was seriously proposing to her at a Country Music Festival in a trailer house? He proudly said ‘yes,’ and walked on stage. After his performance, McGraw returned to his dressing room to an armoire mirror scribbled with a black sharpie, “Yes, I’m gonna be your wife.” It was sealed with an ‘I love you’ and lipstick kisses. Fox has said that as soon as he saw Pollan he asked if she was still in a relationship and when the answer was no, lunch followed and they were married soon after. They married in 1988 in Vermont and have four children. Both Fox and Pollan speak opening about their devotion to one another and their family and that family is their number one priority.

In 1947 they were performing at a rodeo in Chicago. Rogers asked Evans if she had plans on New Year’s Eve. When she replied no, he said he thought they should marry that day.
