Here is a little secret that no one likes to talk about with regard to success. It doesn\u2019t matter whether you went to college.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter if your parents are rich or poor.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter if you are fabulous looking or funny looking.\u00a0 It doesn\u2019t matter if you are young or old.\u00a0 All of those things can hurt you as much as help you on the path to success.<\/p>\n
The reality is that there are a lot of college educated, attractive people out there who aren\u2019t using the skills and talents that God gave them. They\u2019ve been handed life on a silver platter, but they aren\u2019t accomplishing anything.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because, when it comes to\u00a0success,\u00a0the only thing that matters is this: Are you willing to work for what you want?\u00a0 If you are, then nothing<\/em> can stop you.\u00a0 So if you want to achieve something in life, simply start from where you are<\/em>.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t spend your time worrying about what you don\u2019t have.\u00a0 Focus on what you do have<\/em> \u2013 a goal.\u00a0 If you want to be a musician, pick an instrument to learn, save your pennies to purchase the instrument, find a good teacher, and practice!\u00a0 If you want to become a doctor, find a job that will pay for some or all of your tuition and start studying.\u00a0 Today.\u00a0 If you want to accomplish something badly enough, there is always a way.\u00a0 But only you can take that first step.<\/p>\n Starting from where you are requires you to give up the excuses. \u201cI\u2019m not smart enough.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cI don\u2019t have enough money.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t have the right height\/skin color\/weight.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m too old.\u201d\u00a0 The list of excuses goes on and on.\u00a0 If God placed a dream in your heart, He has done so for a reason.\u00a0 It is for you to fulfill that dream and to bless the earth with your gifts and talents.\u00a0 Making excuses doesn\u2019t serve you, and it certainly doesn\u2019t serve God.<\/p>\n Of course, you may have to make some sacrifices. You may have to work harder than your neighbor to achieve your goals.\u00a0 You may have less \u201cfree time.\u201d\u00a0 That is OK!\u00a0 You have more important things to do than surf the Internet or zone out in front of the television.\u00a0 When you have big goals, your time is a precious commodity.<\/p>\n You may have some naysayers. If you are on welfare, and your goal is to own your own business, you may not have many supporters.\u00a0 People may say, \u201cHow can you possibly do that when you have no money?\u201d\u00a0 Don\u2019t listen to them.\u00a0 Similarly, you may want to go back to school and get your college degree.\u00a0 I don\u2019t care if you are 28-years-old or 80-years-old, that goal can be accomplished.\u00a0 Don\u2019t let anyone tell you that what you are trying to do is out of your reach.\u00a0 I am sure that every famous person has been told, \u201cYou don\u2019t have what it takes.\u201d\u00a0 They simply ignored those comments and kept moving toward their goals.<\/p>\n If God has placed a mission or goal in your heart, it is for a reason.
