There are many great resources out there that<br \/>\ncan assist you. <\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">Here&#8217;s a few<br \/>\nresources that you can reach out to for help and support:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nfcc.org\/index.cfm\">National Foundation for Credit<br \/>\nCounseling<\/a> &#8211; A nonprofit organization that provides low cost<br \/>\ncredit counseling and financial education. They also have some<br \/>\nwonderful free tools on their website. You can reach them at<br \/>\n800-388-2227.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.consumercredit.com\/\">American Consumer Credit<br \/>\nCounselors<\/a> is a non-profit organization that provides Credit<br \/>\nCounseling, Debt Consolidation and Debt Management Services. They<br \/>\ncan often work out payment plans, renegotiate rates, balances and<br \/>\nhelp you create a manageable payment plan. Their fees are determined<br \/>\non the basis of your ability to pay. Contact them at 800-769-3571.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>3. When you are seeking the<br \/>\nassistance of a credit counselor or debt management company, make<br \/>\nsure they are certified with the NACCC (National Association of<br \/>\nConsumer Credit Counselors and\/or the <a href=\"http:\/\/afcpe.org\/\">AFCPE Association for Financial<br \/>\nCounseling, Planning and Education.<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>4.Know Your Rights &#8211; Debt<br \/>\ncollectors are not allowed to threaten, abuse or harass you. If you<br \/>\nare being hounded by debt collectors, you can send<br \/>\na out a &#8220;cease and desist&#8221; letter asking them to cease contact<br \/>\nwith you. This does not, however, relieve you of the<br \/>\ndebt. But it should give you some peace.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">In addition to getting the help and<br \/>\nsupport you need and deserve, it is equally important to work on<br \/>\nfinancial forgiveness and healing any feelings you may have about<br \/>\nyourself or circumstances. As you work toward financial resolution in<br \/>\nwhatever way makes sense for you, you will begin to<br \/>\nfeel better about yourself and more hopeful about the future.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">\n<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 0in\">The path to financial forgiveness<br \/>\nbegins with one step toward resolution and another toward<br \/>\nself-forgiveness. It is difficult to move forward and create a new<br \/>\nfinancial reality if you are carrying the burden of the past along<br \/>\nwith you. So forgive, make a plan, get help and support and everyday just do your best. Then let go and let God.
